Harem Anime Where Female Walks in Om Mc in Shower

There can't be romance without a protagonist and the main love interest. In romance anime or harem anime, there is usually a "main heroine" that the protagonist meets first and is the one who typically ends up with the protagonist. This is the usual pattern in a romance. However, what happens when the protagonist does not choose the main girl, but another one?

You may not have known, but there are quite a few romances where the protagonist does not follow the regular pattern and chooses another girl. Here are five romance anime where the main heroine won, and five where someone else did.

10 Main Heroine: Chitoge Kirisaki (Nisekoi)

Chitoge Kirisaki and Raku Ichijou may have been dating under the guise of a fake relationship, but who said it could not blossom into true love? While Raku thought Kosaki Onodera was the girl with the key to his locket all this time, it turned out to be Chitoge.

This made Chitoge in actuality the first girl, as opposed to Onodera, as well as the true main girl. Chitoge and Raku fall in love, get married and have a son named Haku Ichijou.

9 Someone Else: Kazusa Touma (White Album 2)

White Album 2 is a hard anime to stomach. This anime takes quite the approach to breaking the hearts of characters. Setsuna and Haruki become a couple halfway through the series and seem to have a good relationship, although it creates tension between the main cast.

When Setsuna reveals that she confessed to Haruki with the knowledge he loved Kazusa, he broke up with her and immediately left her to spend one last night with Kazusa. The two even had a tear-filled goodbye at the airport, all while ignoring Setsuna completely. Talk about coldblooded.

8 Main Heroine: Louise De La Vallière (The Familiar Of Zero)

Louise de La Vallière is the main heroine of The Familiar of Zero as well as the one who summoned Japanese boy Saito Hiraga. Although one of the main plot points of the story is Louise and Saito's romance, you cannot ignore the fact that this is also a harem anime.

However, this is one of the occasions where it is obvious who is going to end up with who, so it was no surprise when Louise and Saito ended up married at the end of the series. Hopefully, Saito put aside his womanizing ways for good.

7 Someone Else: Tsukasa Nishino (Strawberry 100%)

The plot for Strawberry 100% is one that definitely cannot fly nowadays. Junpei Manaka is the typical gentle and kind harem protagonist who is an extreme pervert. His pervertedness is the key point that gets plot rolling: to find the girl with strawberry panties.

Although Aya Toujou is the mystery girl Junpei is seeking with the strawberry panties, Tsukasa is straightforward and the most forward in gaining his affections. In the end, it seemed to pay off, as she is the only one that becomes his girlfriend at the end of the manga.

6 Main Heroine: Aoi Sakuraba (Bluer Than Indigo)

The other main heroines of Bluer Than Indigo did not even have a chance. When Koaru Hanabishi and Aoi Sakuraba were children, their families made an arrangement for them to get married. While this was dissolved when they were older, they both still loved each other.

She is demure and does not show her jealously although there are others who love Kaoru within the series. Kaoru and Aoi ended up getting married at the end of the manga and live happily together.

5 Some Else: Sena Kashiwazaki (Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends)

Despite Sena Kashiwazaki being the tritagonist of Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends, how did she end up winning the affections of Kodaka Hasegawa, you ask? It is a mystery to this day, as most thought Yozora Mikazuki would win in the end.

After all, Yozara was his childhood friend he could not recognize until later in the series. However, Sena "technically" won as she proposed to Kodaka at the end of the series to which he told her he accepted her feelings, but would not date her until after they graduate.

4 Main Heroine: Naru Narusegawa (Love Hina)

Naru Narusegawa is considered the original tsundere within harem animes as well as the reason for why tsunderes hit their target of affection. When Keitaro Urashima and Naru were children, they made a promise to each other that they would both be accepted into Tokyo University.

Although Keitaro forgot about who it was when he remembered, their relationship began to flourish, and they started to date. They are married at the end of Love Hina and live together in peace.

3 Someone Else: Miu Amaha (Mashiro-iro Symphony: The Color of Lovers)

Mashiro-iro Symphony: The Color of Lovers is a harem anime that acts more as a romance. For one, despite Shingo Uryuu first meeting the main heroine Aira Sena, the anime rarely focuses on her and instead splits off once he begins to date Miu.

Miu is the oldest out of the heroines in the series, and they begin to date throughout the series. She is also the president of the Nuko Club, a school club to care for injured animals and release them back into the wild. It is not hard to see why he fell in love with Miu.

2 Main Heroine: Aya Mikage (Ceres: The Celestial Legend)

Ceres: The Celestial Legend deals with some mature themes. Aya Mikage is the descendant and reincarnation of a celestial maiden named Ceres and is sometimes possessed by her. Although she has been dead for centuries, she is constantly reborn in the daughters of the Mikage.

However, despite her circumstances, Toya decides to love Aya for who she is and not who lives inside of her body. Their relationship is a rocky one but they overcome various problems together.

1 Someone Else: Asa Shigure (Shuffle!)

This was a victory no one saw coming when they watched Shuffle!Despite fans and characters in the series thinking Rin Tsuchimi would end up with his childhood friend, Kaede Fuyou, he picked Asa Shigure instead. She has a frail body, but an energetic personality and is Rin's upperclassman.

She also likes to use English words together with her Japanese sentences. Perhaps Asa's character won Rin over as he was the one who ended up capturing his heart over the other girls within the harem.
